RVC has joined efforts with Lomonosov Moscow State University and ITMO to develop a training course ‘Innovative Economics and Technological Entrepreneurship’ to be included in universities' curriculum.

On March 14, a panel discussion "Effective start-ups: Russia and the World" was held within the framework of the All-Russian Forum "Russia is a Country of Opportunities". Representatives of development and business institutions discussed measures of state support for start-ups as well as opportunities for the development of high-tech business in Russia.
Out of 2,226 technological start-ups that passed the training program within the regional practical consulting sessions (RPCS) in 2016, 1825 (82%) continued development and 334 (15%) reached new stages of development.
The Educational Centre Sirius in Sochi summed up the results of the All-Russian Engineering Olympiad of the National Technological Initiative (NTI). The 11 best teams and 18 winners in the individual all-around were defined based on final tests’ results. The main prize is 100 USE (Uniform state exam) points in core subjects upon admission to the leading Russian universities.
On February 15, within the framework of the 17th annual Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, RVC held a business breakfast on the following topic: "Efficiency of venture market ecosystem’s operation: how to activate commercialization of innovations". Participants of the event discussed the necessary tools to develop the venture industry and specifics of interaction between its key participants.
2017 became a landmark for RVC: RVC approved a development strategy for 2017-2030 which defines the mission, strategic goal and tools that ensure the work of company’s key areas: development and implementation of financial and non-financial instruments for the development of the venture investment and technological entrepreneurship market, stimulation of the creation of an own venture investment industry in Russia and execution of the functions of the Project Office of the National Technological Initiative (NTI).
The 3 February saw the 3rd Congress of the Neuronet Industrial Union in Moscow with the support by RVC. Leading representatives of Russian innovation infrastructures as well as science and businesses took part in the congress. The main theme of discussions within the framework of the congress, apart from summing up the results of the first years of work, was to define the further development trajectory in the Neuronet high-tech market.

More than 200 project teams from 52 cities applied for participation in the largest start-up accelerator GenerationS in Russia and Eastern Europe. An exclusive license to launch the track is owned by Infrafund RVC, LLC.
On December 22, the competition commission formed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia, summed up the results of the competitive selection of grant recipients for state support of the National Technology Initiative centres at universities and scientific organizations. Six NTI Competence Centres have been selected, four of which are formed at the premises of universities and two — on the basis of scientific organizations. By order of the Government of the Russian Federation, RVC is entrusted with maintenance and monitoring of the centers’ activities.
