RVC and TPU have started to implement the concept of University 3.0

The cooperation agreement provides support for innovation and entrepreneurship and the development of technology transfer, the development of new training programs for highly qualified personnel, as well as the development of scientific and research projects in the interests of NTI.

RVC and National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) have concluded a cooperation agreement and approved the work program for 2016-2019. The documents were signed by the Acting General Director of RVC Evgeny Kuznetsov and the Principal of TPU Petr Chubik at the III Annual Forum of the regional innovation infrastructure "Ecosystem of Innovations" on 5 December 2016 in Sochi.

The Work Program of the Agreement provides for the development plan and the beginning of the transition to the concept of TPU University 3.0. The transition project will be implemented in 2017 on the basis of the Department of Elite Technical Education (IT TPU). The model will be applied to the TPU in 2018-2019, in the long term — and in other Russian universities.

As part of the coordination of efforts in the innovation and entrepreneurial activity of RVC and TPU will search for and support of high-tech developments with high growth potential in the Russian and foreign markets. The issue of technology transfer will be worked out; the system of interaction with the venture capitalists of different stages will be perfected. The question of launching a joint fund with RVC is being discussed in association with TPU. TPU is expected to take part in the work of the GenerationS federal accelerator of RVC and the launch of its own accelerator of student projects, in order to support entrepreneurs.

As part of the educational activity, the Agreement provides for the development of a number of training programs for highly qualified personnel and career counselling students. It is planned to introduce new educational programs of TPU undergraduate and graduate, including the opening of a joint RVC magistrate programs in the field of "market of the future" and the creation of interdisciplinary research laboratories engaging the leading experts of RVC. As part of the research activities, on the basis of scientific and educational institutions (SEI) TPU will be implemented research projects in the directions relevant for the NTI markets.

Tomsk Polytechnic University — one of these universities. The University is actively involved in the implementation of the NTI; in the Olympiad movement, there is a separate track TPU; the TPU representatives take an active part in the work on the Universities 3.0 project; the developments of the University are being considered for the future markets of NTI."

"The agreement with RVC takes our participation in the programs of the National Technology Initiative in the format of a "road map" with specific commitments, activities and projects," explains the TPU Principal Petr Chubik. "Our participation in the NTI is a key vector of development, which allows to significantly strengthen the potential of the university, its role and leadership in shaping a new model of the ecosystem of the region and the country as a whole."

Within the agreement, RVC and TPU also planned the organization of symposia, conferences, seminars and other activities in the field of innovation entrepreneurship and venture capital. Specific measures to promote cooperation and joint activities will be carried out by RVC and Voentelekom on the basis of annual and long-term work programs for up to five years.
