The RVC-organized contest GenerationS, the largest start-up accelerator in Russia and Eastern Europe, has launched a regional tour to collect applications from entrepreneurs. GenerationS' presentations will encompass 27 cities in Russia and the CIS countries, such as Perm, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Kazan, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Samara, Almaty and Minsk. During the accelerator the participants will approach a variety of business opportunities: access to industrial partners' resources to develop joint solutions, personal mentors, expert sessions given by top analysts, international trainings, preparation for market entry and assistance with attracting investment. The GenerationS-2016 prize fund will amount to 15 million rubles, while the total value of partners' prizes will exceed 100 million rubles.
The scope of GenerationS regional tour will be ample enough to bolster technology entrepreneurship, bringing together members of regional and federal authorities, venture capital infrastructure, large and medium-sized businesses, start-ups and small innovative enterprises.
In every city GenerationS organizers will showcase the capabilities of the accelerator and its corporate tracks, introduce participants to partners and potential customers from Russian corporations and give instructions on filling out application forms. The prominent part of the presentation will be a pitch-session, during which the region's best start-ups, registered for Generations — 2016, will be able to personally present their projects to the organizers.
The regional tour also envisions selection of start-ups, willing to scale in European and US markets At the end of the selection the best team will collect a special certificate, issued by Vilnius Tech Park, a global partner to GenerationS-2016 The certificate empowers the project with legal, mentoring and marketing support and the right to relocate to a personal work space in Vilnius Tech Park.
All the events of GenerationS regional tour will be open to public. The tour will end on October 8, the applications for GenerationS can be submitted until 15 October.
GenerationS is instrumental for RVC to build a national "innovation elevator" for regional talents as well as develop a regional innovation ecosystems, — said Gulnara Bikkulova, Deputy General Director — Director of Development at RVC and GenerationS ideologist. — GenerationS aims for the tour to find and lure in the best technology projects from different parts of Russia. Once they are through the expert review, they will be able to enter the RVC partner network which consists of private and public investment funds, development institutions, industry experts, representatives of business communities and major Russian companies, all of whom can become consumers of new high-tech products and developments.
GenerationS was officially launched in July 2016 in eight corporate tracks: Mining&Metals, AgroBioTech&Food, SmartCity, Сreative Industries, LifeScience, TechNet, Power&Еnergy, Finance&Banking Technologies. The GenerationS partners are major Russian companies, leaders of the industry: Moscow Exchange, Morton Group of Companies, Russian Technical Community, QIWI , Biopharmaceutical Cluster Northern, JSC " Krastsvetmet ", " ALROSA, EFKO Group of Companies, " Company Sher Oston ", JSC Irkutsk Electric Grid Company, PJSC Saturn. The corporate staff will be directly involved in the selection, expert review and acceleration of start-ups participating in GenerationS.
The development partner, Innovation Assistance Fund, will allocates grants to the best projects of GenerationS under the EGGHEAD and START programs. Other GenerationS-2016 partners include: Open University Skolkovo (OtUs), GC AMEDIA, ALROSA, Rostelecom PJSC

GenerationS is the largest accelerator of technology projects in Russia and Eastern Europe and the first federal platform for creating and developing corporate acceleration toolwork. It has been held by RVC since 2013. GenerationS-2015 collected the record number of applications — from 2566 projects from 14 countries. 141 projects were selected to participate in the corporate accelerators in 7 directions. Over 20 Russian-based companies, interested in the selection and acceleration of start-ups, have become customers and corporate partners to GenerationS. Currently, the total of 60 joint projects are being processed. The total value of prizes from GenerationS partners comprised 160 million rubles.
