A video-conference Moscow-Beijing on "Forum and Exhibition "Open Innovations and priorities of Russian-Chinese partnership in the field of innovations" was held in the multimedia press center of "Russia Today" International Information Agency on September 30. The event's participants spoke about the breakthrough technologies developed in Russia and China, the joint construction of an innovation ecosystem of the two countries and also advertised "Open Innovations", the III Moscow International Forum of Innovation Development, which will be held on October 14-16. China is the official country-partner of the Forum in 2014.
In Moscow, the event was attended by Arkady Dvorkovich, Russian Deputy Prime Minister, Li Hui, Chinese Extraordinary and Authorized Ambassador to Russia, Igor Agamirzyan, General Director and Chairman of the Board of Russian Venture Company OJSC, Viktor Vekselberg, Skolkovo Fund President and Mikhail An, Deputy Administrator of the Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Entrepreneurship of Moscow. Andrey Denisov, Russian Extraordinary and Authorized Ambassador to China, participated from Beijing.
This year the Forum and Exhibition will be held at a new platform – in "Moscow" Technopolis. A key topic of the Forum is "Creative destruction: how to remain competitive in the 21st century." "The new breakthrough technologies are not only reshaping the markets, they are changing our everyday lives. The countries can remain competitive only under an active technological development. "Open Innovations" will not only show the recent Russian achievements in the field of innovations, but will become a unique platform for live communication of entrepreneurs, experts, representatives of Institutes for development from different countries. Creation of such an environment is very important for the whole innovation ecosystem," – mentioned Arkady Dvorkovich in his speech.
New technologies are on the rise in Russia now. According to Igor Agamirzyan, our country is ranked fifth in the world and the second in Europe in terms of venture capital market volumes. A close cooperation with China will allow to further strengthen Russian position in this field. "It's a mutually beneficial cooperation. We can offer technologies to China, which are traditionally very developed in our country –in the field of energy, including nuclear one, aviation, space exploration, etc. In its turn, China has a strong manufacturing base, which is well integrated in the international chain of added value formation. Together, we can work more effectively on access to the global markets," – said RVC General Director.
Li Hui, Chinese Extraordinary and Authorized Ambassador to Russia emphasized that our countries are strategic partners in the field of innovations and should enhance cooperation in the field of research and technology, including through communication at "Open Innovations" Forum, which is a useful platform to strengthen contacts. Arkady Dvorkovich added that a number of contracts and memorandums of cooperation with Chinese partners are to be signed as part of 2014 "Open Innovations" Forum and Exhibition.
According to Viktor Vekselberg, Skolkovo Fund President, which has been an an active participant and organizer of the Forum since its first day, two companies-residents of Skolkovo will sign cooperation agreements as part of 2014 "Open Innovations". "Our Fund, which is Russian flagship innovative project, is fast developing now. We have more than a thousand residents and their total revenue amounted to 23 bln rubles last year. But we need not only the numbers - we need results, success stories. We have some already, for example, T8 Company, Skolkovo resident and "TechUspekh" rating participant, set the world record for data transfer speed. I hope that we can ensure to our developers all the conditions to access the global markets and both cooperation with China and participation in "Open Innovations" Forum will support it."
Russia and China will be presented at the highest level at the Forum. On the first Forum day, Dmitry A. Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of PRC, will take part in the plenary session on the topic: "New innovative world map: how to reduce technological gap between the countries." A Chinese representative delegation will be working at "Open Innovations" Forum. Chinese partners will also organize a special event under an eloquent title "Dialogue on innovations: innovation policy cooperation of partner countries." Open Innovations Expo Exhibition will present a large-scale exposition of the latest technological achievements of the companies, technological parks and universities of People's Republic of China.
