GenerationS announced top 40 Russian industrial startups

Industrial track of the federal accelerator competition GenerationS organized by RVC and Moscow IDC published the list of 40 winning projects of the regional pre-acceleration stages. Participants in the shortlist were selected from different Russian cities and their projects are in different stages: from an idea to a beginning business company. Many projects that were selected are supported by patents and the participants' own scientific development.

The largest number of participants were selected from Moscow, Irkutsk, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and Omsk. One participant was shortlisted from each of the following cities: Ivanovo, Cheboksary, Krasnodar, Stavropol and other cities.

During the pre-acceleration program the best projects were selected by the expert jury consisting of private investors, guest lecturers and venture funds representatives. The shortlisted startups will participate in acceleration program in Kazan. The startups will be able to work with the masters of technology entrepreneurship, venture investors and business angels, experts in the marketing field, PR and other specialists. Based on the acceleration results 15 projects will be selected for the final.

Pavel Korolev, General Director of Pulsar Venture Capital, operator of GenerationS industrial track notes: "The choice wasn't simple, but the selection process eliminates the risk of emotional mistakes: three expert juries in three Russian cities evaluated the participants by the same number of criteria. Anyway, I advise the participants who were not shortlisted not to be sad, may be you just did not have enough confidence and presentations skills. For those who were shortlisted, I advise to be patient - there is still a difficult acceleration and track's final to go."

The selection process for the short-list was held as part of pre-acceleration weekend. The participants from the track's TOP 100 had a two day training and, on the third day, made their presentations as part of a "pitch session" which was evaluated by the jury. First, the following features were considered: competitive advantage, business model elaboration, team level, technical innovation.

At the GenerationS final, which will be held in October at Moscow International Forum "Open Innovation", the best teams of all four sectorial tracks of the competition will present their projects to Russian and foreign investors and will strive for a cash reward of 5 mln rubles and special prizes from the competition partners.
