"The accelerator's educational program is designed with a maximum commitment to practical application, - said Olga Babkina, Deputy Vice Rector for Science of Tomsk State University. - We expect that the accelerator's participants will get new useful knowledge and skills, will take a look at their projects through the eyes of world-class experts and mentors and ultimately will improve their projects. We will evaluate the results of this work on September 23, when the participants will present their projects to experts and investors on Demo Day."
At present, GenerationS is the largest community of startups in Russia which already includes more than two thousand projects in the field of information technology, biotechnology and medicine, industrial solutions and resource-efficient technologies. As it was noted by Gulnara Bikkulova, Director of RVC Innovation Markets Department, GenerationS Federal Competition Accelerator became the first platform where projects gain support in accordance with their specific character: "Industrial operators with an expertise in dealing with complex technology projects appeared in Russia, - said Gulnara Bikkulova. - These are Tomsk State University, Pulsar Venture Capital company from Kazan, Web Ready Competition organizers from St. Petersburg, Cleantech Open Russia team, Russian representative of the world's largest American accelerator in the field of "clean technologies". It's great that an industrial expertise is being created within GenerationS. For us, this means that Russia has the potential of creating new industries which will attract Russian investors, give rise to interesting development and we hope that all of this will allow to switch the orientation of Russian venture capital market from the projects in the field of IT and Internet to technologically complex projects."
The acceleration final will be held as Demo Day (September 23) as the presentation of the projects "packed" for business before the experts and investors. Top 10 participants will attend coaching session in Moscow and will present their projects to Russian and foreign investors in the final of GenerationS at "Open Innovations" Forum. The GenerationS will be awarded with a prize of 5 mln rubles.
