On October 29, 2015, Igor Agamirzyan, RVC CEO, and Dr. Heuijae Pahk, President & National CTO of MOTIE Office of Strategic R & D Planning, signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of technological innovations. The document was signed in Moscow as part of the "Open Innovation" Forum. The agreement is aimed at mutual support of Russian and Korean technology companies, universities, and expansion of technologies commercial use for a long-term development of both countries.
RVC and the Office for Strategic Planning of the Republic of Korea will exchange the best practices in innovations management, identification of new markets and key technologies, development of the set of measures to support and stimulate the economy for these markets development at the country level.
The parties agreed on further joint efforts in several areas. In their respective countries, they will act as partners for involved Russian and Korean institutions, including institutions for development, technology companies, small and medium enterprises, venture capital funds and business incubators, in order to establish effective bilateral cooperation.
There will be the exchange of information on technological trends, medium- and long-term forecasts of economic and technological development in Russia and the Republic of Korea, as well as actual requests for specific technologies to accelerate industrial development.
One of the priorities is to support Russian and Korean universities in establishment of a mutually beneficial technological cooperation and exchange of the best practices in the field of technology transfer and technologies commercialization.
"South Korea, being a country with a successful experience in innovation management, is one of the RVC international activities priorities, – said Igor Agamirzyan, RVC CEO, – I think the opportunities created within the cooperation will increase awareness of the innovation companies of both countries on existing development and promotion tools, and the events held as part of the agreement will strengthen ties between the participants in the innovation and venture capital ecosystem in Russia and South Korea".
A special role in the successful implementation of cooperation programs is assigned to joint seminars, exhibitions, bilateral exchange of scientists, researchers, technicians and specialists.
Dr. Heuijae Pahk, President & National CTO of MOTIE Office of Strategic R&D said: "Russia and the Republic of Korea share their view on the importance of innovation and cooperation between our countries for the development of a knowledge-based economy.
