On December 6, as part of the Global Technology Leadership Forum in Sochi, RVC and Russian Railways OJSC signed an agreement to start joint work on creating the innovative infrastructure for the transport industry.
The companies will work together with all elements of the open innovation ecosystem to implement state support programs for leading centres and leading companies of the national program “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation”, as well as the participation of Russian Railways in the National Technology Initiative as part of the pilot implementation of innovative solutions in the field of end-to-end technologies.
The previously announced venture capital funds, in the interests of which an accelerator based on GenerationS from RVC will act, will become interaction tools. The first fund is focused on the development of a wide range of solutions for the transport industry. The planned investment focus is the technology of transport engineering and instrumentation, new materials, robotics, 3D printing, additive technologies, quantum communications, “green technologies”.
Under the agreement, the parties will carry out the development and implementation of joint projects, including with the participation of the State Transport Leasing Company (STLC), to solve the scientific and technological problems facing Russian Railways. RVC and Russian Railways will search, select, develop, and promote high-tech projects for the Russian railway industry and transport infrastructure in general.
Under the agreement, RVC will develop educational projects aimed at improving the competencies of Russian Railways employees in terms of working with start-ups and building an innovative corporate culture.
The Global Technology Leadership Forum was organized by RVC and the NTI Platform with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. The focus of the Forum is the formation of the technological policy of Russia for the next decade, the evaluation of the results of scientific and technological development, the determination of the role and leadership potential of Russia in the global technology agenda and the formation of the NTI strategy for the period of 2020–2025. Among the participants of the Forum, there are more than a thousand representatives of companies, investors, authorities, and development institutions. The strategic partner of the Forum is VEB Ventures. The partner in the plenary meetings is Rosatom State Corporation. The forum’s partner is also Sberbank of Russia.
