Michelin Summarizes the Results of the First Russian Corporate Accelerator

Michelin summed up the results of the corporate accelerator held in partnership with GenerationS from RVC. The Company was interested in looking for innovative solutions capable to enhance comfort of heavy-duty trucks’ drivers at work. Following the results of the acceleration program, 2 technology projects will continue cooperation with the partner.

The best projects that will continue cooperation with Michlen are as follows:

  • IZZZIO: a blockchain platform that developed the Driver’s Digital Passport at Michelin’s request and the platform consolidating the entire infrastructure and players of the cargo transportation industry, which uses its own global member loyalty and evaluation system.
  • Cargolink: a mobile app that helps long-haul truckers communicate with each other, find stops (including available parking space), filling stations, cafes, etc. Besides cooperation, members of the Cargolink team were able to attend the annual Movin’on Summit devoted to the transport of the future and held by Michelin in Montreal and could communicate with the transportation industry leaders and promote their project.

“Selection of areas that consolidated the solutions to improve drivers’ working conditions can be explained by Michelin’s desire to be closer to its end users. Since this field has not been sufficiently examined so far by startups and many of them have originated from other industries, the search for decisions was not easy. However, it gave Russian and CIS teams an opportunity to open up a new promising market and get in the crosshairs of the global corporate customer”, said Ekaterina Petrova, Director of the Corporate Accelerator.

190 project teams from 54 cities in Russia and the CIS took part in the competition organized on the basis of GenerationS from RVC. The project teams underwent an intensive three-week training and were able to adapt their products to Michelin’s needs.
