WORK Festival Expert Council has determined 10 regions in which in 2019 a series of maker festivals of the NTI Kruzhok Movement will take place.
WORK is a network of technical creativity festivals aimed at developing the community of makers in Russia (inventors who create completely new products using simple improvised means and technologies). The NTI Kruzhok Project, implemented by RVC team and NTI Project Support Fund, includes an annual international festival in Moscow, a series of events in the regions, as well as educational and networking activities aimed at improving the competencies of management teams of technology groups.
In 2019, the festival will be held in Belgorod, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Tula and Chelyabinsk. In each region, local organizing teams are defined, which will have to form and hold WORK festivals. Until the end of winter, a single calendar of regional events will be formed.
To determine the regions and local teams, a competition for finding partners was announced. During the competition, 53 applications from 24 cities of Russia were received. The project team carefully studied and analyzed the materials for compliance with the key criteria — compliance with the maker theme, the concept of the proposed event and the team’s experience in conducting youth activities, as well as the co-financing prospects. The selection results were summarized at the first Expert Council of the project, which included recognized experts in engineering, maker, science, education and media. The Expert Council Chairman is Ivan Bortnik, Advisor to the Director General of the Innovation Promotion Fund.
