RVC and the Government of the Perm Krai sign an agreement on the development of NTI

RVC and the Government of Perm Krai agreed on a partnership in the field of the National Technology Initiative (NTI). The corresponding agreement was signed at the Interregional Export Forum in Perm by the governor of Prikamye, Maxim Reshetnikov, and Alexander Povalko, the General Director of RVC.

The agreement provides for the implementation of projects and programs in the field of NTI and digital development, training for high-tech markets, the development of venture capital investment and the innovation ecosystem in the Perm region.

The parties plan to hold joint technological competitions of NTI, project sessions and events as part of the agreement. RVC will assist the region in the development of new venture capital market tools, take part in the development of a regional startup community and innovation infrastructure. In particular, a startup accelerator based on the regional GenerationS franchise may be launched in the Perm region.

The course “Innovative Economics and Technological Entrepreneurship” developed by RVC with the participation of the Moscow State University and ITMO University will be offered for highly qualified personnel in higher education institutions of the Perm region. As part of the course, students will learn how to launch startups from the idea stage to market entry.

According to Governor Maxim Reshetnikov, the agreement with RVC focuses on resolving issues on the implementation of the National Technology Initiative in the province. The need for such projects has been repeatedly declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin, denoting that the country should develop industries that are expected to become the basis of the global economy in the next dozen years.

“The Perm Krai has demand for technological mentoring since many of our enterprises need in the first place information support during a period of active growth, when small production is replaced with mass production. This is now experienced e.g. by Promobot. We see this and understand that companies need to communicate on equal terms with major federal players in the high-tech market in order to keep growing,” said the head of the Prikamye Region.

Besides, the parties will seek talents among schoolchildren and will encourage them to try their talents at the NTI Olympiad.

“RVC is interested in developing partnerships with the innovation ecosystem of the Perm Krai. There is a pool of successful technology companies with export-oriented products in the region, for example, in the field of robotics: startups from Perm — Promobot, RCML, FDM 2.0 — have repeatedly become finalists of the GenerationS accelerator, and now they are successfully bringing their products abroad. The region also actively supports NTI educational initiatives: About 200 schoolchildren from the Perm region submitted applications for participation in the engineering Olympiad of the NTI; teachers from more than 20 schools joined the NTI lesson. The agreement signed today will allow us to expand cooperation with regional authorities, universities, the business and scientific community,” said Alexander Povalko, General Director of RVC.

NTI is a long-term state program aimed at creating new markets and achieving Russia's technological leadership by 2035. Priorities for the NTI development: unmanned vehicles, neurotechnology, personalized medicine, intellectual energy, advanced production technologies, etc. The design office for NTI is RVC.
