As part of the Eastern Economic Forum, Sberbank and RVC signed an agreement on cooperation in holding up Great technology competitions. RVC, ASI and Skolkovo Foundation as part of the implementation of the National Technology Initiative initiated the competitions.
Sberbank expressed its readiness to launch Up Great technology contests in priority areas for the company together with RVC. Among them are logistic robotics, airborne and ground-based uncrewed vehicles, personal assistants, industrial collaborative manipulators, industrial assistive technologies (exoskeletons) and other areas in the field of intelligent and service robotics.
As part of the implementation of the agreement, Sberbank will take part in the formation of competitive tasks, provide its infrastructure for holding tenders, and will also facilitate the involvement of Russian engineering teams. The Robotics Laboratory of Sberbank of Russia will provide advisory and organizational support for the competitions. Technical Director of the Laboratory Alexey Gonnochenko is the leader of the Up Great Winter City contest dedicated to the creation of unmanned vehicles for movement in extreme climatic conditions. An expert group under his management has already developed a competitive task and the conditions for testing the cars created by the contestants.
The Up Great technology contests are a new format of open engineering contests for Russia in which teams are invited to find breakthrough solutions to the most complex technology problems of global scale. The winner of the competition receives a large cash prize for the demonstration of a precise and repeatable decision of the competition task before the expert jury and the public. The prize fund of contests ranges from 60 million to 175 million roubles for each competition.
In July, we started accepting applications for the first Up Great Winter City Contests, First Element. Earth" and "First Element. Air". Competitions are devoted to the development of technologies of uncrewed transport and hydrogen energy.
Applications will be completed in the fall, and the names of the winning teams will be announced in early 2019.
