Alexey Basov was appointed Deputy General Director and Investment Director of RVC. Alexey will be in charge for the implementation of company's strategy in the field of investment policy, programs and projects.
Alexey Basov is a venture investor, Internet entrepreneur, founder of a number of Internet companies. He has been engaged in high technologies and venture investments since 1998. Since 2002 he has been director and co-founder of Begun. From 2005 to 2011 he was a manager of the “Finam Information Technologies” Foundation. In 2011, he became vice-president of Mail.ru Group. In 2013, he was appointed Vice-President of Rostelecom OJSC, where he was engaged in the implementation of the company's strategy in the field of venture products and created and headed a corporate venture fund.
While the post of RVC's investment director was vacant, these functions were performed by Mikhail Fedotov, Deputy General Director and CFO of RVC. After Alexey Basov took office, Mikhail Fedotov continued to manage the division entrusted and develop the company's financial instruments as the company' Deputy General Director and CFO.
As of today, 26 funds have been established using RVC capital with their total value of RUB 35.1 bln. The share of RVC in these funds amounts to RUB 22.5 bn. The number of innovative companies approved for investment by RVC funds reached 216.
The RVC's strategic goal is to bring its scale of operation to a level comparable to similar European entities by 2030. RVC will support Russian technology entrepreneurs in priority areas that correspond to the NTI roadmaps and end-to-end technologies of the Strategy for scientific and technical development of the Russian Federation. RVC instruments are structured in three directions: investment activities, development of innovations and NTI, development of venture market ecosystem.
