Alexander Povalko heads the RVC department in the MIPT

RVC's General Director Alexander Povalko took the post of the head of the RVC department "Management of Technological Projects" of the Faculty of Innovation and High Technologies of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).

The department makes it possible to implement the only in Russia specialized program for training personnel for the venture market, designed for graduates of the bachelor's degree and a specialty of engineering, computer, technical and natural sciences. Venture funds are the main customers of personnel trained by the department.

Thanks to the scientific and educational base of the MIPT, the graduates of the department have the strongest technology and analytical competencies. RVC's expert resources, advanced training practices and the composition of venture capital market practitioners enable students to obtain an extensive financial and economic knowledge base.

The teachers of the department are experienced professional, heads of funds and corporations: Pulsar Venture Fund's Manager Sergey Mitrofanov, IBS's Deputy General Director Mikhail Belov, Head of the Technology Partnerships and Import Substitution Department of Gazprom Neft PJSC Sergey Arkhipov, Investment Director, member of the Board of the VEB Innovations Foundation Anna Nenakhova, Director of Corporate Research and Development at Sibur Dmitry Stepkin and others.

Since 2012, more than 50 students have graduated from the department. Training is free of charge for applicants who receive a higher education in the magistracy for the first time. Among the technology companies and venture funds that offer internships and employment opportunities for students are funds with the participation of RVC capital, Sberbank Ventures, KamaFlow, VEB Innovations, Runa Capital, Skolkovo, Phystech Ventures, iTech Capital and other key players of the venture market.

"The department is a very lively project involving a large number of ecosystem participants. Graduates of the department are in great demand as project managers, specialists and analysts of large companies, venture funds, and research centres. In the long term, we expect to see them on the positions of managing partners of funds, R&D directors and as founders of successful technological businesses," said Alexander Povalko, RVC Director General.

In the near future, the RVC department plans to expand the line of educational programs for the venture market, launch additional professional education programs, and develop international cooperation with leading universities and introduce distance learning methods.

Earlier, Igor Agamirzyan took up a post of the head of the RVC department in the MFTI.
