On March 16, 2017, the BioCorpus site of the National Research University of MIPT held the signing of documents which marked the launch of the NeuroIntelekt iPavlov project under the Neuronet roadmap of the National Technological Initiative.
A memorandum on the support of this project between the Project Office of the National Technological Initiative and MIPT was signed by Alexander Povalko, General Director of RVC, and Nikolai Kudryavtsev, Rector of the University. Along with support from the National Technological Initiative, the project was co-financed by PJSC Sberbank. The corresponding document was signed by the President, the Chairman of the Board of PJSC Sberbank German Gref and the Rector of MIP.
The project NeuroIntelekt iPavlov aims to develop algorithms for deep machine learning to create "conversational" artificial intelligence. The solution of this problem will rely on the results of studies of the so-called reverse engineering of the brain (i.e., studies on the principles and mechanisms of its functioning).
"Conversational" artificial intelligence with a deep understanding of natural languages is a technological platform that will allow computers to respond to specific questions in various subject areas and have a dialogue with a human in order to achieve the goal.
The project team aims to overcome the technological barrier in the field of computer intelligence algorithms based on the consolidated knowledge about the mechanisms of brain functioning and the modern theory of deep machine learning. Furthermore, during the project it is planned to create a competence center on modern neural network technologies based at MIPT to train world-class researchers and programmers in the field of deep neural networks.
