Assistive technologies with neuro management

On March 20, 2017 from 15:00 until 18:00 the Coworking Center "Boiling point ASI" will hold public demonstration tests of the latest Russian developments in the field of neuromedicine and assistive technologies — a wheelchair with neuro controls

Guests and participants of the event will be permitted to test prototypes, while people with reduced capabilities — bionic athletes — will demonstrate skills in managing these high-tech machines which help them live a full life. Disabled wheelchair users from the Rehabilitation Center "Preodolenie" will take part in virtual competitions — races via Neurotlone neurointerface.

The results of experienced testing will be evaluated by authoritative Russian experts in neuromedicine, academicians of leading institutes of neurology and physiology. Among them:

  • Mikhail Piradov, Academician, Director of the FSBSI of the Scientific Center for Neurology, Moscow,
  • Lubomir Aftanas, Academician, Research Institute of Physiology and Fundamental Medicine, Novosibirsk;
  • Vladimir Konyshev, head of the project "Assistive technologies with neuro management", general director of "Neurobotics";
  • Sergey Nakvasin, project manager of NTI ASI, co-organizer of the NTI Analytical School.

Media representatives will have the opportunity to personally experience the neuro-headset in the operation of a wheelchair and take part in the virtual races "Neurotlon". Demonstration tests are one of the key stages in the implementation of the project "Assistive technologies with neuro controls" under the NeuroNet roadmap of the National Technological Initiative (NTI). The project aims to create a Russian line of neurassistive devices and a new generation of control sets for electric wheelchairs, exoskeletons, simulators, and smart hospitals. The devices will improve efficiency of treatment and rehabilitation of patients after stroke and head neurotrauma, patients with paralysis due to spine trauma, patients with infantile cerebral palsy and amyotrophy, as well as with autism and deaf blindness.

The project is commissioned by the Scientific Center of Neurology. The project is implemented by developers of medical equipment, scientific and medical organizations and funds.

The market launch of the basic model of the neuro controlset is planned for 2018. In total, a line of seven devices is being developed. The expected sales of devices by the end of 2020 are estimated at 1.5 billion rubles., of which 50% will account for export.
