RVC: Russian fast-growing companies are watching global markets

MOSCOW, 8th of December /TASS/. Russian non-primary mid-sized companies in need of funding for the expansion onto international markets and in need of support inside the country to overcome the administrative barriers to access to government contracts, TASS was told by the Acting Head of Russian Venture Company (RVC), Evgeny Kuznetsov, commenting on the results of the national ranking of fast-growing companies "TechUspekh".

In the ranking, which is the base for the project of the Ministry of Economic Development to support the fast-growing companies, only companies under the age of four years participate in it, showing the revenue growth of at least 15-20% over the past five years. The rating results were announced during the congress "Innovative practices: Science plus Business", which was held in Moscow on 7 December by the participation of First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.

RVC as one of the organizers of the rating expects thus to identify Russian companies that are capable of rapid expansion outside the Russian market, as, for example, one of the participants of the rating company "Interskol" successfully ousted the Chinese competitors from the Russian tool market and successfully mastering European markets .

"For the development of the country, they do not need money, but for the global expansion of the capital - they do, and they will need investors' competence which sometimes means more than the expansion of the capital", said Mr. Kuznetsov.

An operator of Er-Telecom telecommunications became the leader of the ranking in terms of revenue, the developer of intellectual information processing solutions, Abi Production - in terms of exports; meanwhile, the fastest growing company became a manufacturer of robotic simulators Eidos Medicine, which increased revenues by 7,368 % during 2010-2015.

According to Mr. Kuznetsov, the ranking made it possible to find in Russia a large number of successful non-resource companies with potential for export expansion, and to understand what barriers they are facing.

"Unexpectedly for us, the number of such companies turned out to be not only very large, but they have turned out to be very successful. They have already been working well in many foreign markets", said Mr. Kuznetsov.
