Four teams of schoolchildren were recognized as winners of the NTI. Junior National Technological Initiative's Club Movement Olympiad final, which is one of the projects of the presidential platform “Russia — a Country of Opportunities,” the RSV press service reports.
In the final round, 76 students of grades 5–7 simultaneously competed in four directions. The participants of the Technology for Space track collected a payload container of a cubesat satellite and programmed all the electronics to support the life of the bio-matter. In the track “Technologies for the Virtual World", teams created a “synthetic personality” — a chatbot that mimics intelligent behaviour. The finalists of the “Technologies for Man” direction constructed a control panel, which is controlled by the operator using the “power of thought” — the panel reads the bioelectric signals of the muscles and converts them into commands. The developers of the tasks “Technologies for the World of Robots” suggested that schoolchildren come up with a gripping device for moving goods using an aircraft.
Engineering competitions in Moscow continued a series of 16 finals, which take place in November-December in 16 cities of the country. In the metropolitan finals, the participants represented Moscow, St. Petersburg, Sevastopol, as well as the regions of Moscow, Vladimir, Novgorod, Smolensk, and Krasnodar Territory.
Applications for participation in the Olympics were filed by more than 23 thousand students of grades 5–7 from 84 regions of the country. As a result of qualifying rounds, 1,200 participants reached the finals. A total of 16 final rounds will be held; the final stages have already been taken by Korolev, Moscow, Irkutsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Izhevsk, Cheboksary, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, and Moscow. In December, the finals will be held in Volgograd, Yakutsk, Yaroslavl, Veliky Novgorod, Kazan, Vladivostok, St. Petersburg, and Ufa.
