In Russia, a competition is about to be launched to create an unmanned vehicle

The winner of the competition for the creation of an unmanned vehicle for winter roads of Russia will receive up to 200 million roubles, the results of the competition will be announced at the end of 2018, said Alexander Povalko, CEO and Chairman of the Board of RVC, in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"The applications for the contest "Winter City" will begin in the near future, and by the end of 2018, we expect to announce its results. The winner will receive a substantial cash prize. The prize fund of the contest, according to our plans, will amount to 200 million roubles," he sais on the eve of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, which takes place on February 15-16 in Sochi.

According to Povalko, the purpose of the competitions is not only to draw the attention of engineering teams to the development of breakthrough technologies, but also to further use of the products and technologies created in business.

"Everyone has already realized that unmanned vehicles and high-quality roads are good. But if you want to expand it, if you really want to implement it in cities and towns, then another level of technology is required," he said.
