Vasiliy Osmakov graduated from the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, as a specialist in the orient, Africa and a translator of the Arabic language.
Candidate of Economic Sciences. Associate Professor, Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge of the Higher School of Economics. Certified Project Director (IPMA Level A). Speaks English, Arabic, and German.
From 2004 to 2008, Vasiliy held various positions in the Ministry of Industry and Energy of Russia - from the chief specialist to the head of the strategic planning and research department of the Department of Economic Analysis and Long-Term Planning. Over the next four years, Mr. Osmakov worked as an assistant to the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and was an adviser to the Minister.
From 2012 to 2016, Vasiliy headed the Department of Strategic Development and Project Management of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. Currently, Vasiliy Osmakov oversees the regional industrial policy, machine tool, and investment machine building, the work of the Department of Strategic Development and Project Management at the Ministry.
