The Final Stage of the NTI Olympiad Reached by 578 Schoolchildren

According to the results of the second stage of the NTI Olympiad, organized by the RVC, 578 schoolchildren entered the finals. Among them, there are finalists of 15 profiles, winners and prize-winners of the last year's NTI Olympiad and open engineering competitions.

The finalists of 15 profiles of the Olympiad were 49 teams from Russia and 1 team from Kazakhstan. Participants from the Novosibirsk region (101 finalists), the cities of St. Petersburg (50 finalists) and Moscow (49 finalists), Krasnoyarsk Territory (46 finalists) and the Republic of Tatarstan (40 finalists) became the most active in terms of technological creativity. For the participants of the profiles Unmanned Aerial Systems and Nuclear Technologies an additional qualifying stage is held on December 18 — 22: despite the complexity of assignments, the passing score in these categories was scored by the majority of teams.

According to the regulations, the winners and prize-winners of the last year's NTI Olympiad and open engineering competitions, such as "Lift to the future", the All-Russia Forum of Professional Navigation "ProeKTOriYa", WorldSkills Championship and others will also be able to take part in the final stage.

According to the number of participants, the profiles were distributed as follows:

  • New materials and sensors — 66 people; 
  • Wireless technologies — 49 people; 
  • Autonomous transport systems — 47 people; 
  • Big data and machine learning — 47 people; 
  • Nanosystems and nanoengineering (Nanotechnology) — 43 people; 
  • Intelligent energy systems — 41 people; 
  • Communication systems and remote sensing (Space systems) — 41 people; 
  • Intelligent robotic systems — 39 people; 
  • Creation of prosthetic systems (Neurotechnologies) — 37 people; 
  • Electronic Engineering: Smart house — 37 people; 
  • Engineering biological systems — 27 people; 
  • Software engineering of financial technologies — 27 people; 
  • Virtual and augmented reality — 26 people; 
  • Advanced production technologies — 26 people; 
  • Water robotic systems — 25 people.

"In the final stage of the NTI Olympiad, talented schoolchildren will take part, those who have already applied engineering skills in practice and showed creative potential during the qualifying stages and hackathons in the profiles of the competitions. Now the children will have to concentrate their efforts to solve common problems, develop engineering solutions and test them at the stand," commented Mikhail Antonov, Deputy Director General and Director of Innovation Infrastructure Development of RVC.
